Rachel Fischbein  Executive Director

Rachel Fischbein’s leadership within the Bay Area fashion community involves numerous advisory, business development and educational roles with fashion-focused organizations. She has been a member of the FiSF board of directors since 2016. 

In addition to starting the law firm Law on the Runway which supports fashion and beauty entrepreneurs, Fischbein is an advisor to the Silicon Valley BeautyTech Accelerator and to San Francisco’s Fashion Community Week. She previously served on the board of directors of PeopleWearSF, a Bay Area trade group supporting sewn-product professionals. 

Fischbein is a sought-after educator, having lectured on the business of fashion at FIDM, SF State and the Academy of Art University. She also is active on the local speaking circuit, including panels with the San Francisco Fashion and Merchant Alliance, DG Expo, 360Fashion, and Fab Co-creation Studio.

Mika Uehara — Director of Programming

Mika Uehara is the Director of Programming and leads events & programs, marketing, and partnerships for the Incubator.

Prior to joining FiSF, Mika spent the last 15 years leading business development, marketing, and product development initiatives for early stage and venture-backed companies across retail, ecommerce, adtech, and digital media industries. She has extensive background building and launching programs to help scale businesses and drive revenue, and working with Fortune 500 brands and retailers, including The Gap, Banana Republic, Old Navy, and more.

Mika also founded SF FASHTECH (SFFT), the first and leading innovation platform and community dedicated to fashion technology, helping startups, brands, and designers launch, connect to resources, and build their businesses. SFFT has been featured in SF Chronicle, WIRED, RetailWire, and Electric Runway, among other publications.     

Mika is passionate about entrepreneurship and the future of fashion. She is excited about the role of technology in bringing new methods, materials, and processes to evolve the fashion industry.
