Eileen Mockus - President, CEO - Coyuchi

Coyuchi President - CEO & proven textile innovator with roots in fabric and product development. Eileen Mockus has been passionate about textiles as long as she can remember. As with textiles, weaving talent and passion together to build teams positioned for growth is a driving force in her career. Eileen learned about entrepreneurship first-hand while developing new products for the North Face, and honed her business development and branding skills at Pottery Barn Kids and PB Teen. At these and other iconic brands, such as Patagonia, she made use of her deep knowledge of the technical side of the textile business, working in fabric development, materials testing, product development and sourcing. She first became interested in organic cotton and improved processing for textiles while visiting manufacturing facilities in Europe and Asia. The challenge of making high-quality products in a way that is respectful to the people who make them, as well as to the earth, drew her to Coyuchi and helps guide her vision for the company as it grows. Like Coyuchi, she believes textiles should not only feel great against your skin but also made with respect for the fiber, artistry of the fabric, the people who make them, and the resources used in the process. Eileen is the board chair of the Chetna Coalition which is an ethical textile and fashion value chain community with the goal to organize and align the demand of buyers and manufacturers to support the growth and development of Chetna’s Organic farming community. Eileen represents Coyuchi on the Fiber Council for the Organic Trade Organization and serves on the Board of the newly formed group Accelerating Circularity, whose mission is to create textile to textile supply chains that eliminate textile waste.
